Day 2 | Let the Peru Adventure Thrills begin! | Lima / Cusco / ATV Expedition in the Sacred Valley of the Incas | B.L.

Early morning flight to Cusco (airfare LIM-CUZ is not included). Upon arrival in Cusco, we will be transferred to the Sacred Valley of the Incas for a better acclimatization process. Once we are all checked-in at our hotel for a 3-night stay, we will head for the Wayra Ranch for a one-of-a-kind lunch at La Terraza. While at La Terraza, enjoy an overwhelming display of color and contrast brought by the mountains, the popular art, the mural paintings and an inspiring garden. We will also be treated with the glamour of the Paso Fino Peruvian horses and the Marinera dance (dances may vary depending on the day).

In the afternoon, around 2:00 pm, we will enjoy an ATV Sacred Valley Expedition (minimum age requirement: 16-years old) through the Countryside, allowing us the opportunity to drive on routes, off the regular tourist path, where we find amazing landscapes and glimpses of the everyday life of this region. From the Pumahuanca gorge, we cross the farming communities of Rumichaca, Palcaraqui and Pumahuanca. Accompanied by scenic vistas, passing through native flora, we continue along to Chicon gorge from which we can see mountains and glaciers. The route takes us on to the town of Urubamba, the archaeological ruins of the palace of Huayna Capac, the traditional community of Chichubamba and its chicherias where locals brew maize beer.

    Day 3 | Urubamba River White-Water Rafting Expedition – Class II & III | B.L.

After an early breakfast at the hotel, we will be transferred to the dock located in Pachar, the starting point for our Urubamba River white-water rafting expedition. We will receive the river rafting equipment and a proper safety briefing in order to be prepared on how to handle the rapids class II and III. After a brief practice on the flat parts of the river, we will start our journey on easy waters, while we admire the spectacular views of the mountains and archaeological remains, continuing towards Ollantaytambo and its amazing Inca terraces. At this time we experience class II and III rapids and finish with El Resbaladero (The Slide), a strong class III rapid that includes waves and small whirlpools.

After our expedition, we will have lunch in a traditional restaurant located on the riverside, owned by the local community family. This is a great chance to enjoy the Andean cuisine while supporting community projects. In the afternoon return to our hotel. Balance of the day is at leisure.

Day 4 | Horseback Riding Expedition through the Sacred Valley | B.

After breakfast at the hotel, during this morning we will enjoy a half-day Peruvian Paso Fino Horseback Riding adventure through the Sacred Valley of the Incas. After a short orientation, we set off on rural paths, across small villages and communities such as Palcaraqui, Rumichaca, San Jose de Media Luna, Pumahanca and Chichubamba.

As we ride, we are transported into a rural lifestyle, meeting and greeting villagers in their everyday wear, observing how they cook, herd cattle and cultivate their fields, so we will be able to respectfully interact with them, in their cultural space and get a glimpse of their daily routine. Our expedition follows mostly rural routes and paths, and just a few or no cars at all. Only at certain points and when there is no alternative, we use paved roads to cross back onto paths or to reach culturally significant destinations on our itinerary.

Day 5 | Express Inca Trail, a Light Trek to Machu Picchu / Overnight in Machu Picchu | B.L.D.
