At the end of the zip line circuit, get ready to explore the most fascinating scenery in the Arenal Conservation Area on horseback. ATV Countryside Adventure with Lunch or Dinner. At the designated time, your driver will pick you up at your hotel and transfer you to La Pradera where your guide will explain how your vehicle works and fit you with the appropriate riding gear. Once ready to take off, your group will travel to see farms in the area, several towns outside of La Fortuna and the Arenal River. You will trek through roads which can only be accessed by ATVs, giving you a true off the beaten track experience. Butterfly and Fauna Garden at Danaus EcoCenter. The Danaus Eco-Center is a biological reserve where they develop conservation programs, training, environmental education and sustainable production. It has trails through secondary forest, where you can observe in their natural habitat to a wide variety of plants and animals. One of the main attractions of the place is the butterfly breeding center, with a special place for the display of larvae, pupae and eggs, where they reproduce near of 30 different species of butterflies. The Danaus Eco-center protect a natural water spring declared a site of national importance and monitoring nesting colonies of aquatic birds, crocodiles, basilisks, iguanas, amphibians, among others. You will also see a great variety of tropical plants and traditional crops, organically farmed in the gardens.
Cano Negro Wildlife Refuge Nature Cruise with Lunch. After an early breakfast at your hotel, meet your guide for a transfer to the dock in the town of Los Chiles where you will board the river boat that will take you on a fantastic encounter with nature. The Cano Negro Wildlife Refuge is located in the Frio River and both are biological humid areas considered to be one of the richest in biological diversity in Costa Rica. Here you can find a great variety of resident and migratory birds. Your nature cruise will take you through tropical rain forest, pastures, and marsh, where you can see howler monkeys, spider monkeys, white-faced monkeys, three-toed sloths, reptiles like caimans, the Jesus Christ lizard, turtles, and an almost endless selection or birds. Around noon we will stop along the river for a typical Costa Rican lunch before heading back to Arenal.
Canyoning & Waterfall Rappelling with Lunch. This is a soft yet adventurous family-friendly activity for which no experience is necessary! Your excursion begins when we pick you up at your hotel for a 30 minute 4×4 drive. After a brief safety talk and instructions, you will put your gear on followed by a short trek to the top of the first waterfall where we start our descent. There are 4 rappels -3 waterfalls and 1 canyon- ranging in height from 165 feet to 45 feet, and all are guaranteed to get your adrenaline moving! The trails that lead you from waterfall to waterfall through the canyon are surrounded by lush vegetation; it’s like being in a national park. A short trek out of the canyon will take you back to the base camp where a typical lunch will be waiting for you. After lunch, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

Horseback Riding to the Arenal Volcano. After breakfast at your hotel, meet your driver for a short transfer to the starting point of your adventure, which begins when you ride the horse to the base of the Arenal Volcano. This is a good combination of horseback riding, primary and secondary forest, cattle farm, and beautiful scenery. During the trip you pass by one of the more interesting places around the volcano. Also you can appreciate many species of birds, a great variety of butterflies, wild animals, and a great diversity of lush plants of the tropical rainforest, then you continue riding through the rain forest, next to a natural lake, where the awesome landscape, the whisper of the wind, and the silence make us value our existence and the wonderful Mother Nature… and do not forget the permanent image at the mysterious Arenal Volcano. Maleku Cultural Experience with Lunch. After breakfast at your hotel meet your driver for a short transfer to the Maleku Village. The Maleku Indian Tribe is the smallest in Costa Rica with only 650 people left! Living off the land is what the Maleku know and need to survive. The jungles & forests provide everything they need. The Maleku community keeps its traditions, culture and the Maleku language alive and they are very proud to have done so. While visiting the Maleku Village, you will learn about their cultural worldview, their origins, their beliefs, and the great respect they have for the natural environment. The tribe's shaman will guide you on a short trail in the forest where you can learn about the different medicinal plants they use. Halfway down the path, you will come to the Maleku Sacred Tree where daily they offer their prayers and experiment the cacao ritual. After learning about the history of the Maleku people and walk through the reforestation project and medicinal gardens, you will enjoy a traditional Maleku lunch, spend time with the women and children of the community painting your own Maleku art piece and partaking in a traditional Maleku ceremony.
Rio Celeste & Tenorio Volcano Hiking with Lunch. Today’s adventure begins when your guide meets you at your hotel and drive to the entrance of the Tenorio Volcano National Park from where you will start hiking through the forest, passing by impressive hot springs, fumaroles, and native Costa Rican wildlife and following the bright blue current of Rio Celeste. As you witness the sky-blue waters of Rio Celeste, your guide will explain the phenomenon of the river's color, which occurs when sunlight reflects off minerals in the water at the convergence of 2 rivers. Llanos de Cortez Waterfall with Lunch. Early in the morning, get ready for an all-day Costa Rica Adventure! This beautiful, hidden gem is located down a short, steep trail, whose cascading waters you'll be able to hear from the parking lot. The falls drop into a tranquil pond with a white sandy beach that’s perfect for swimming and sunbathing. Go "backstage" and relax on the rocks behind the waterfall curtain. During this excursion we will stop at a local restaurant to try the typical Costa Rican dish called casado. A casado is a traditional Costa Rican meal with rice, black beans, sweet plantains, salad, corn tortilla, and your choice of chicken, beef, pork, or fish.
Palo Verde National Park Nature Cruise & Guaitil Pottery. A great choice for birdwatchers! After a guided scenic drive through Sabanero (cowboy) country to the put-in location, enjoy a two hour cruise on the Tempisque River being the nearest access to world famous Palo Verde National Park, home to hundreds of migrating water bird species. Among other creatures you might see monkeys, scarlet macaws, iguanas, crocodiles, caimans and occasionally smaller mammals on the river banks.

Sunset Cruise and Snorkeling. Spend the afternoon sailing up the north coast; the captain will stop at one of many special anchorages where you can enjoy a snorkeling adventure or simply playing in the ocean. During this snorkeling tour you can view a myriad of marine life. While you work up an appetite the crew will prepare some snacks and refreshments. Then, get ready for the light show of a lifetime as you return to shore as you watch as the sun disappears under the horizon. Just bring a towel, bathing suit, and sunscreen.
Tamarindo Mangrove & Estuary Tour on Kayaks. Either single or double sit on top ocean kayaks will introduce us in to this nature lover’s paradise; great quantity of fauna species and a very especial flora characteristic of this ecosystem, the mangrove. Using paddles, not motors, will give us the chance to observe the animals but not disturbing them, allowing us to have better pictures or if we have no camera to obtain better memories.
After paddling for one hour, some fresh fruits will give us energy and hydration to continue enjoying this beautiful natural environment that is now considered as an international important wet land (Ramsar site) in action. What to bring: Strap sandals, mosquito repellent, sun block, hat, sun glasses. We include: Water bottle, fruit juice, guide, and transportation, single or double kayaks with its equipment. Duration: 3 hours approx.
Manuel Antonio National Park Guided Nature Walk. Enjoy an early breakfast at the hotel, followed by a guided visit to the park. During your visit, you will observe, learn about – all in its natural and breathtaking habitat, the secrets of a tropical rainforest. Watch sloths and numerous species of monkeys travel through the tree canopy, hunt for nocturnal silky anteaters and several types of monkeys or iguanas resting in the tropical rain forest, and listen to the songs of the various birds as they glide above your group, curiously looking for adventure. And if you are lucky, you might spot one of the only 1,000 remaining endangered Mono Titi or squirrel monkey, which live in only one location in the world, in our Manuel Antonio National Park biological corridor.
Important Note: The guided visit lasts approximately two hours. You may want to stay in the park to continue exploring at your own pace and enjoy unspoiled, un-crowded, pristine beaches. If you opt to stay in the park on your own, you will provide your own transportation back to your hotel. Balance of the day is at leisure.
Tree-Top Canopy Zip Line and Hanging Bridges at Selvatura Park. The Tree-Top Canopy Zip-Line at Selvatura has some of the longest cables in Costa Rica and is the only one truly immersed in virgin forest.
