


Arenal, Costa Rica: Sarapiqui Whitewater River Rafting Class II–III with Lunch. After an early breakfast at your hotel, get ready to meet the river crew for your journey to the San Carlos Valley in the Caribbean basin, home to this incredible river. Once you arrive at the starting point, certified guides will equip you with professional gear and give you a briefing on safety commands and paddling instructions.
After gearing up, get ready to enjoy the sights and sounds of the rainforest as you paddle downriver, tackling exciting rapids while soaking in the breathtaking scenery filled with vibrant flora and fauna. Your local bilingual guide will point out interesting features of the landscape that attract scientists, photographers, and filmmakers year after year. The Sarapiqui River combines adventure and nature, with class II-III rapids rushing through the tropical rainforest, truly a paradise!
About halfway through your tour, you’ll stop to enjoy a colorful buffet of fresh tropical fruit, recharging your energy for the next leg of the adventure. During this break, you can swim and jump from the cliffs above, while your guides share insights about the fascinating plants and animals in the area.
At the end of your adventure and before heading back to your hotel, you’ll stop at the riverside camp for a delicious traditional lunch.

What to wear / bring recommendations: Light and comfortable clothing, rubber-sole shoes or sandals (hard-sole shoes are not allowed on board the rubber rafts), hat, and sunglasses. Bringing a swimsuit, towel and a change of clothes is recommended. You will be navigating along a tropical river, where heat and humidity are expected; you may want to consider bringing water (preferably in a refillable bottle), sunscreen, and insect repellent.
