Rio de Janeiro, Brazil: Christ the Redeemer & Scenic Corcovado Experience. After breakfast at your hotel, your guide will take you on a scenic drive along Rio’s beautiful beaches. You will pass Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas en route to the Cosme Velho district, where you will board the Swiss-made cogwheel train for a scenic journey through Tijuca National Park, ascending to the 710-meter summit of Corcovado.

At the top stands Christ the Redeemer, a striking Art Deco statue in soapstone mosaic with outstretched arms, as if blessing the city below. From Corcovado, enjoy spectacular panoramic views of Rio de Janeiro and its surroundings, and quickly understand why it is called the “Marvelous City.”

After the visit, descend by cogwheel train to Cosme Velho station and return to your hotel via São Conrado Beach, where you may see hang-gliders resting when they are not soaring overhead. The afternoon is at leisure.
