Lima City Tour and Larco Museum with Lunch

In Lima, Peru: Lima City Tour & Larco Museum. At the designated time, get ready to meet your guide for a private guided excursion of modern and colonial Lima. Your tour will start at Larcomar, the city’s most exclusive shopping center located in front of the Pacific Ocean, and will transfer you to the Pucllana Temple, a pre-Inca pyramid found in the Miraflores district, to mark a contrast. 

You will then visit the El Olivar Park, an ancient olive plantation, which is now part of the city, located in the San Isidro district, and from there you will be transferred to Lima’s historical downtown, a World Heritage listed by UNESCO. 

Your day of exploration continues with a stop at the Main Square, located in front of the Presidential Palace, the Lima Municipality and the Archbishop’s Palace, beautiful colonial buildings that are an important part of its identity. 

Your tour continues with a visit to the world famous Larco Museum, a colonial mansion-turned-place of historical interest. The Larco Museum is home to many pieces of fine pre-Columbian art, gold and silver artefacts, in a building constructed on the site of a 7th century pyramid. 

The Permanent Exhibition will give you an in-depth look at the Andean worldview and will help you learn about the development of pre-Columbian societies, through an impressive collection of objects. In the Storage Rooms you will be able to walk between shelves containing 30,000 catalogued ancient pottery artifacts. In the Erotic Gallery you will appreciate the major collection of pre-Columbian erotic art and learn about the different and interesting perspective on ancient Peruvian sexuality. Before the transfer back to your hotel, enjoy lunch at the Cafe del Museo.
