The journey begins at the Interpretation Center, where you will learn about Galapagos wildlife, geology, history, and the islands’ social dynamics. After your visit, hike to Tijeretas Hill along natural trails formed by ancient lava rocks. The trail is surrounded by native vegetation, including Galapagos cotton, Palo Santo, acacia, and cacti. Along the way, keep an eye out for blue-footed boobies, frigatebirds, pelicans, herons, gulls, warblers, mockingbirds, and finches.

After your hike, cool off with a refreshing snorkeling experience at postcard-perfect Carola Beach, where you may encounter friendly sea turtles, playful sea lions, and marine iguanas while enjoying the beautiful coastal scenery and setting sun. The remainder of the day is at leisure. A stroll through the charming, laid-back beach town and along the waterfront promenade is highly recommended, where you can visit a nearby colony of Galapagos sea lions.
