Urubamba, Peru: Express Inca Trail & Machu Picchu Overnight. Today, you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to Ollantaytambo Station, where you will board the Vistadome Class train to kilometer 104 of the railway. From this point, your hike begins with a crossing of the impressive suspension bridge over the Urubamba River, followed by a visit to the archaeological complex of Chachabamba.
You will then ascend to Winayhuayna, located at 2,700 meters above sea level, where you will enjoy a delicious box lunch while taking in panoramic views of the stunning landscape. Continuing along trails surrounded by lush vegetation, you will make your way to Inti Punku, the famous Sun Gate, where you will catch your first breathtaking glimpse of the majestic Machu Picchu citadel, situated at 2,430 meters above sea level.
Afterward, you will descend to the entrance of the citadel and take a bus down to Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival, check in to your selected hotel and unwind after a day filled with exploration and adventure in one of the most iconic destinations in the world. Dinner and overnight stay at your hotel.
Important Note: Your main luggage will be stored at your hotel in the Sacred Valley. For the Inca Trail, please bring only an overnight change of clothes in a small backpack.
