Puerto Maldonado, Peru: Family Adventure at Posada Amazonas Lodge – Day 1. The family adventure begins in Puerto Maldonado, the gateway to the Amazon. From here, set off on an exciting one hour boat ride along the Tambopata River, where young explorers may spot playful monkeys, caimans, and vibrant tropical birds. During the journey, enjoy an Amazonian lunch on board, a flavorful introduction to the rainforest that delights children and adults alike.
Upon arrival at Posada Amazonas, an ecolodge managed by the Ese Eja Native Community, children are welcomed with a special explorer ritual: a seed bracelet symbolizing their connection to the jungle and a temporary Amazonian tattoo to mark the beginning of their adventure. A very special companion also joins the journey, Paddington Bear, who becomes part of every memorable family moment.
As evening falls, the rainforest comes alive with a guided night walk, where flashlights reveal bioluminescent insects, fascinating frogs, tarantulas, and other nocturnal creatures. It is a magical introduction to a jungle that never sleeps, creating unforgettable memories for the whole family.
