Puerto Maldonado, Peru: Family Adventure at Posada Amazonas Lodge – Day 1. The family adventure begins in Puerto Maldonado, the gateway to the Amazon. From here, set off on an exciting one-hour boat ride along the Tambopata River, where young explorers may spot playful monkeys, caimans, and colorful exotic birds. While cruising, enjoy an Amazonian lunch on board, an introduction to the rainforest’s unique flavors that will delight both children and adults.
Upon arrival at Posada Amazonas, an ecolodge managed by the Ese Eja Native Community, kids are welcomed with a special explorer ritual: a seed bracelet symbolizing their connection to the jungle and a temporary Amazonian tattoo to mark the start of their adventure.
There is also a very special companion on this journey, Paddington, the world’s most beloved bear, who joins the guide team and will be part of every family moment.
In the evening, the rainforest comes alive with the first big expedition: a night walk with flashlights to discover bioluminescent insects, fascinating frogs, tarantulas, and other nocturnal creatures. Children will learn that in the Amazon, every creature has a role to play and that the jungle never sleeps, creating unforgettable memories for the whole family.
