Horseback Riding Exploration of the Sacred Valley

Urubamba, Peru: Horseback Riding Exploration of the Sacred Valley. Today you will enjoy one of the most delightful activities the Sacred Valley has to offer. You will ride on the paths of the valley after receiving instructions on horse riding techniques about Peruvian Paso horses. Peruvian Paso horses descend from the Spanish horses introduced during the Spanish conquest and they developed a very particular gait due to their isolation in the mountains for 400 years. They are considered one of the most comfortable breeds to ride. 

Your adventure will begin with a transfer to the rural community of Cruzpata, where you will be matched with your horse and start riding to the archaeological site of Moray. Along the way we will pass through stunning scenery, surrounded by snowy mountains and farmland with crops growing. Arriving in Moray, our guide will explain the importance of this archaeological site where the Incas worked with plants and foods to adapt the plants to different altitude levels, according to scientific research it is known that in the agricultural terraces can be found up to 15 degrees difference in temperature. 

After visiting the archaeological site of Moray, you will continue riding and head to the town of Maras where you will enjoy a visit to this picturesque village and its 400-years old church. At this point, you will leave your horse and continue the journey towards the salt ponds. After visiting Maras, you will be transferred back to your hotel.
