Just wanted to thank you again for all your help. Mr. Lain had an awesome Peru trip. He wants to go back and is working ‘rosetta stone’ to learn Spanish. 600 pictures, video and chitter bites were his treasures upon returning. He said he has lots to share with his students.

EcoAmerica Tours put together a one of a kind trip for me that I took in June/July 2015. I traveled alone and I am a young female. I felt safe and had each day of my vacation planned out for me with a guide and a driver at minimal cost.
We toured the Doka coffee plantation and La Paz Waterfall gardens with Homer, and we were treated to way more than we could have imagined. Great knowledge of local flora, fauna, history, and a wonderful person overall. A wonderful day in the cloud forest!

In Baltra
AM: Arrival at Baltra Airport
Morning flight from Quito or Guayaquil to Baltra, in the Galapagos Islands. Upon arrival at Baltra Island, passengers are greeted at the airport by our knowledgeable guides and taken on a brief ten-minute bus ride to the pier, where they will board the Galapagos Legend.
PM: Black Turtle Cove: Santa Cruz Island
Located on the north shore of Santa Cruz Island and accessible only by sea, this secluded cove is home to four species of mangroves that crowd together to form an internal lagoon. In the calm waters, sea turtles often surface for air while fish and rays glide silently below. White-tipped reef sharks can sometimes be seen beneath the boat, along with a variety of sea birds, including pelicans, herons, and egrets. This area has been officially declared a turtle sanctuary.
AM: El Barranco Prince Philip´s Steps: Genovesa Island
Marvel at the variety of sea life that finds shelter in the crevices of the lava cliffs. Overhead, Red-billed Tropicbirds soar, while a small colony of fur seals may be spotted near the landing site. You will arrive at the base of a steep stairway carved into the rocks, leading to a trail that winds through a vibrant seabird colony inhabited by Nazca and Red-footed Boobies.
PM: Darwin Bay: Genovesa Island
Within the flooded caldera of Tower Island, you will land on a sandy beach where you’re likely to be greeted by swallow-tailed gulls, often considered the most beautiful gulls in the world. Along the trail, you can observe nesting red-footed boobies and great frigatebirds.
AM: South Plaza Island
Sea lions, swallow-tailed gulls, and land iguanas are often seen at the landing site. The small island is blanketed with a red carpet of succulent plants, dotted with Opuntia cacti. Along the cliff edge, you can spend time watching a variety of birdlife, including frigatebirds, flocks of Galapagos shearwaters, and most notably red-billed tropicbirds performing their aerial displays.
PM: Santa Fe Island
After an incredible snorkeling experience in the turquoise waters of the protected bay, possibly alongside sea lions, turtles, reef sharks, and spotted eagle rays, we land on a sandy beach and spend time observing the abundant sea lions resting nearby. From there, we begin a walk through a forest of island endemic giant Opuntia cacti, where we may spot the unique Santa Fe land iguana.
AM: Highlands: Santa Cruz Island
In the central highlands of Santa Cruz Island, we have the best opportunity to observe truly wild Galapagos giant tortoises up close. A short walk among these massive 600-pound reptiles also offers the chance to spot other highland wildlife, including several species of the famed Darwin’s finches.
After the visit, passengers will be transferred to Baltra Airport for their return flight to Guayaquil or Quito.
