I want you to know that we arrived safely back to the US. Thank you for all of your help with our changes due to the hurricane. We very much enjoyed Manuel Antonio and Arenal and are sorry that we missed Monteverde. Our guide, Homer, was terrific and we really enjoyed his knowledge and camaraderie.

Our journey across the archipelago aboard the Isabela II promises encounters with many islands and diverse wildlife, from bright flamingos on the first day to preening frigatebirds on the last. Read More
We will meet colossal giant tortoises at Cerro Colorado and a trio of booby species at Punta Pitt. Next, we’ll admire the magnificent views and wildlife of Española Island, including epic waved albatrosses and colorful marine iguanas. On the fourth day, we’ll wake up in Floreana, where the historic Post Office Bay and the green beach at Cormorant Point await. Then we navigate west to walk across young lava formations at Punta Moreno and explore the fascinating mangroves and flightless cormorants of southern Fernandina. The expedition concludes with a morning visit to Eden Islet and ends on a high note with an afternoon trek across beautiful North Seymour.

AM: Baltra Airport Arrival
Upon arrival at Baltra Airport, you will transfer to the dock to board the Isabela II. After an introductory briefing and a safety drill, enjoy a delicious lunch onboard as you begin your Galapagos adventure.
PM: Las Bachas: Santa Cruz Island
Explore Las Bachas on the north shore of Santa Cruz Island. Relax or swim at the beautiful white sandy beach, and take time to observe the brackish lagoons, home to various bird species. Back on board, the evening continues with a welcome cocktail, an expedition briefing, and a delightful dinner.
AM: Punta Pitt: San Cristobal Island
Begin the day by exploring Punta Pitt, located on the eastern tip of San Cristobal Island. After landing, follow an ascending trail that offers the unique opportunity to spot all three booby species: blue footed, red footed, and Nazca, as well as both great and magnificent frigatebirds. Bachelor sea lions often lounge along the shore. Weather permitting, you may also enjoy swimming, kayaking, snorkeling, or a scenic panga ride from the beach.
PM: Cerro Colorado: San Cristobal Island
Visit Cerro Colorado on the southern side of San Cristobal Island. Disembark at Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, following in the footsteps of Charles Darwin’s 1835 exploration, and take a 40 minute drive to the Cerro Colorado Tortoise Breeding Center. Here, you will learn about conservation efforts for endangered giant tortoises while walking through a deciduous forest home to diverse birdlife, the San Cristobal mockingbird, and lava lizards.
AM: Gardner Bay: Española Island
Begin your day at Gardner Bay on Espanola Island with a morning walk along its stunning white coral beach. Along the way, spot playful sea lions, curious mockingbirds, and lively finches. The bay also offers excellent snorkeling opportunities in its clear waters. For those seeking more adventure, optional activities include kayaking, an inflatable dinghy ride, or a glass bottom boat excursion.
PM: Punta Suarez: Española Island
Explore Punta Suarez, also on Espanola Island. Embark on a trek through rugged lava and boulder fields while observing a variety of seabirds, including waved albatrosses, different species of boobies, and swallow tail gulls. Be sure to visit the island’s iconic blowhole and watch for large marine iguanas basking in the sun.
AM: Cormorant Point: Floreana Island
Begin the day with a visit to Cormorant Point on Floreana Island. Take a morning walk along the green olivine crystal beach and continue to a brackish lagoon, where you can observe American flamingos in their natural habitat. Then explore a white sand beach that serves as a nesting site for sea turtles. Later in the morning, head to nearby Champion Islet to enjoy activities such as snorkeling, a panga ride, or a glass bottom boat tour.
PM: Post Office Bay & Baroness Cove: Floreana Island
Visit Post Office Bay and Baroness Cove, also on Floreana Island. At Post Office Bay, see the historic barrel post that has served as an informal mail system for centuries. Learn about Charles Darwin’s visit to the area and its significance in the study of evolution. Conclude the day with snorkeling right off the beach.
AM: Punta Moreno: Isabela Island
Begin the day at Punta Moreno on Isabela Island with a morning stroll through mangroves, searching for sea turtles and exploring the island’s striking volcanic landscapes. Along the way, you may spot a variety of wildlife including penguins, cormorants, sea lions, and colorful bird species. To end the morning, enjoy an optional glass bottom boat ride or take part in deep water snorkeling.
PM: Punta Mangle: Fernandina Island
Discover Punta Mangle on Fernandina Island during a panga ride along its untouched coastline, navigating bays, mangroves, and hidden coves. Keep watch for rays, sea turtles, dolphins, and possibly whales in the surrounding waters of the Bolivar Channel. If conditions allow, conclude the day with either a glass bottom boat ride or another round of deep water snorkeling.
AM: Eden Islet
Begin your day with a scenic panga ride to Eden Islet, located just off the coast of Santa Cruz Island. This small islet offers excellent wildlife viewing, with chances to observe blue footed boobies, reef sharks, and frigatebirds in their natural habitat. Snorkeling here provides an opportunity to swim among vibrant marine life. Weather permitting, you can also enjoy a glass bottom boat ride to explore the area’s stunning volcanic underwater scenery.
PM: North Seymour Island
Discover North Seymour Island, known for its diverse habitats and iconic Big 15 species. Take a guided walk to see nesting frigatebirds, land iguanas, and playful sea lions, and enjoy additional activities such as a dinghy ride and snorkeling. The day concludes with an evening briefing, a relaxing cocktail, and dinner onboard.
AM: Departure from Baltra Island
Arrive at Baltra Island to conclude your journey through the Galapagos. After disembarkation, you will transfer to the airport for your return flight to the mainland. Thank you for joining us on this remarkable expedition.
