Santiago, Chile: Vina del Mar & Valparaiso Exploration. Begin your day with a scenic drive from Santiago toward Chile’s Pacific coast, passing through the famed Casablanca Valley, an area celebrated for its cool-climate vineyards. En route, there’s an option to stop at a local winery to enjoy a wine tasting (optional).
Our coastal exploration begins in Vina del Mar, affectionately known as the Garden City. Famed for its manicured parks, iconic Flower Clock, and inviting beaches, Vina del Mar combines the charm of coastal leisure with modern architecture and vibrant street life. It’s a refreshing, cosmopolitan city in constant motion, perfect for a relaxed stroll and photo opportunities.
We then continue to Valparaiso, a striking contrast in both energy and character. This historic port city, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2003, is famed for its bohemian spirit, colorful hillside homes, and labyrinthine alleys. With its funiculars, steep stairways, and panoramic lookouts, Valparaiso invites exploration at every turn. Its creative soul is evident in the murals, architecture, and unique charm found throughout its heritage neighborhoods.
An optional visit to La Sebastiana, Pablo Neruda’s former home perched on Cerro Florida, offers a glimpse into the poet’s eclectic world and spectacular views of the bay.
After an enriching day filled with art, history, and coastal beauty, return to Santiago in the late afternoon.
